What is the total estimated area of all parking lots in the United States?
There are estimates of between 40,000 to 50,000 total square miles of paved surfaces, but a large portion of that is roads. Can anyone find a figure for just parking lots? Cite your source, please.

- Even one parking lot is too much... It was never my idea to build them.. Roads either. I could survive on paths and railroads at best... Anyone who doesn't agree is just as guilty of being as destructive as Americans.
- Too many problems with calculating this. What constitutes a parking lot? There aren't any figures I could find on this either. Sorry.
