Good Parking Spaces

What if all parking lots were parks and parking was underground?

I took the San Diego trolley to the end of the line to a new mall in Santee, California. This is a very nice new mall with acres of parking lots. Wouldn’t it be a better city plan to have designed the parking under the stores and have a tranquil park environment between shops? Think of the difference this would make. I get to thinking of how much our culture is based on driving there and shopping... Shopping is good and getting there is fun too, but I just want there to be more of a balance of asphalt to nature. We would be more peaceful if we had more trees and plants among us. What do you think? I want the city planners of today and tomorow to think like this.

1. haleluya lots of people would like that we are echanging bio mass for asphalt and concrete all over the world and irresponsible farming with heavy machines and chemicals as well as over grazing are creating too many desserts a reversal of changing asphalt and concrete back into Nature that can be enjoyed by people is a great idea i would also like to see much more Urban horticulture ,fruit trees in the streets ,and everybodies back yard with some vegies or at least a tree to become a garden culture like Babylon would be the way in which we could increase bio mass instead of depleting it constantly everywhere if the whole world did it we would have our paradise on Earth ,and we dont have to die first to get there and we would kick Global warming in the nuts but fat chance of all that peoples focus is elswhere off the planet beyond the clouds may it be to that paradise waiting for them when they are food for the worms or the quest for power or money and the Idea of War seems to be popular now amogst the ruling elite idiotic to be squabling whilst our ship is on fire and everybody is in the same damn boat
2. It would be nice but enormously expensive. Who pays the extra expense? How much extra are you willing to pay to shop at a mall with underground parking?
3. My father makes his living putting down blacktop! What?! Do you want us to starve or something!? Nah, I'm pullin' your leg. Good idea. Write your local representatives. :)
