Why do the Lawyers and Paralegals insist on taking visitor parking spaces?
On the first floor of my office building is a law office that's chock full of small-time lawyers and lowly paralegals. They're all up to their ears in debt and spend all their disposable income on fancy clothes and luxury vehicles such as BMW or Mercedes. They also apparently feel that they're so important that they park in the visitors parking spaces every day! Why do these people insist on taking visitors parking spaces? Are they trying to compensate for something?

- Ask them
- It seems as though you are jealous of their debt, disposable income, fancy cars and clothes. They are probably in a rush!
- I had a Corvette at one time (during my shallow years) that I 'loved' and I confess that I always parked next to other nice cars and where I could keep an eye on it. I wouldn't park it just anywhere, I mean, hey, it was a Corvette afterall! ;) But then I got over it and became a little more practical. So my point is, maybe they just like their cars. Maybe they don't even realize they are bothering anyone with their obnoxious parking habits. Being as you share an office building, I'm sure there is some kind of contract stating something about the parking lot, like whose responsibility it is to take care of it, assigned parking, etc. Possibly there is a clause about the "Visitor" spots and they are legally bound to not park there. Or you could just go down and ask them nicely to not park there. Tell them clients of yours are complaining about the parking situation and will go elsewhere if they have to keep dealing with that hassle, ultimately it's hurting your business.
- Why did you feel the need to say "small-time lawyers and lowly paralegals"? I'm a paralegal and I don't consider myself lowly, I make good money and I'm considerate of other people. Before you ask an ettiquette question maybe you should take a look at your ettiquette practices.
- You consider BMWs luxury cars? You must live in a very small town. Here in Atlanta, no self-respecting attorney would be caught dead in one. That would be the same as you driving a Yugo or a 1980-something Chevette. I'm curious--how do you know these "small-time lawyers and lowly paralegals" are in debt? This is truly a very odd question. Really--why do you care? How is it possibly hurting you (unless you're angry because they're taking up all the visitors spots, forcing you to park farther away)?
