Good Parking Spaces

Do you agree that Pregnant women should have parking spots akin to Wheelchair accessible patrons?

I know that in several areas in North America that Pregnant Women, and Mothers with young Children have the rights for more accessible parking.

  1. yes.
  2. I don't agree with that at all....pregnancy is not a handicap, and you need the exercise so you don't get fat
  3. No, if they can't walk to the store, how will they walk through the store?
  4. no they shouldnt. because they are not disable they can walk
  5. Yes by all means and also seats in buses and trains.I hope Women's lib will not oppose these ideas as they claim equality with men in all aspects.
  6. Yes I believe that this should be the case. A lot of pregnant women are quite capable of walking although some don't realise the discomfort of pregnancy. Also if you need to return with to your car with a trolley it would be much less hassle not to have to walk as far. Pregnant women are fragile, as long as they don't play on it!
  7. Ah...no. Mothers with young children isn't a handicap, chance are, you could have prevented that. Besides, we'd run out of parking spaces if we considered someone with the common cold liable for a nearby parking space.
  8. Yes. Same with broken legs, recent heart surgery, etc. Hardly anyone ever uses the handicap spots, I don't see why temporary users can't have the benefits too.
  9. Sure put them next to all others who feel handicapped, women , blacks, latinos, etc.
  10. No. The next thing you know, every special group will demand special spaces as well. What's next? Spaces for women going through menopause? For men with prostate problems? For parents with 2 or more children in hand? For those with baby strollers? Good grief!! Being pregnant is not the same as walking with a cane or walker, or loading yourself into your wheelchair.
  11. No. It would be taken advantage of. If they were in wheelchairs, then yes. I get tired of woman who play the pregnancy card. It is NOT a handicap. If you are in a high risk pregnancy, different story, but how do you decifer those from others. A "pregnancy" parking permitt? Do you know how rediculous that sounds being that woman in other countries walk miles while pregnant just to get water? They live in shambles, and have very little food. I know that many will say they shouldn't have children born into suffering, and I agree, yet it IS done. When is the nonsense going to stop in this country? We feel such an "entitlement" to everything. Half the people you see with handicap parking stickers are just too obese to walk that far. (mean I know, but true)
  12. 100% behind that one. OF COURSE! Poor things, especially those with other kids with them.
  13. I don't agree that they should... but then they deserve it just as much as most of the so called handicap people. Now for you thumb downers I have seen this first hand and watched handicapped people walk across the parking lot when they shouldn't and watched people park in handicapped spots and almost run into the store. Was really sad to watch and see that most so called handicapped people take advantage of the system. Now have fun with the thumbs down you so called handicaps.
  14. NO! As a woman, mother and two time prego, I never found walking a few extra feet a huge issue. In this day and time when I see huge people and people getter bigger by the minute walking those few extra feet is an investment in your health and the ultimate health of your child! They probably need to walk MORE! Also, I completely agree with LT. I am sick to death of people who have "handicapped" plates but aren't handicapped. Often it's a care taker who doesn't even have the handicapped person in the car but takes advantage of the plates. When I use my family member's car with the handicapped plates and they aren't with me I park in a regular spot. When you cheat you only cheat yourself.
