is it really necessary to have 20 or more handicapped parking spots at a wlamart?
i know most people who shop at walmart are handicapped in one way shape or form - but they are not all physically handicapped - so why so many spots. also - if they have 25 spots for the handicapped - why do they only have 5 or six electic mobile handi-carts? shouldn't they have an equal number of electric mobile handi-carts as they do parking spaces? wouldn't it be better to just allow them a certain time of day to shop like 8pm-9pm and then open those spots to the rest of us throughout the day? Also, if their parking spots were further away it would encourage them to walk which would give them exercise which in turn would improve their health so they would no longer need to park in the handi-zones. besides most people (probably all) that use a handi-cap parking space just lie and fake it at the dmv anyway.

- generally, the number of parking spaces (handicapped and otherwise) is a function of local zoning/building codes
- yes
- whoa whoa whoa wrong question The right question is shold they have 26 registers and only 4 cashiers Yeah they have to have all them spaces...for what you said the fakers.....19 may fake it but the one who actually is disabled needs a spot and wal-mart knows if the real ones don't get that spot they will lose another lawsuite
- I avoid Wal Mart like a mad case of herpes anyway, but... It's kinda dumb that people who scream for handicapped parking twenty feet from the store's front door will then walk through the store shopping for a good hour.
- Be glad you are able bodied and don't have the need for the handicapped spaces! Next time you are at a shopping mall or Wal-Mart why don't you park out as far as you possibly can and use the time spent walking to the store to reflect on your insensitivity to disabled people. How would you like to be relegated to one time period that you could shop?!!? That idea is very discriminating and thoughtless. Not everyone who has a physical disability that uses the handicapped spots need to use a handi-cart because many of them already have a wheelchair or motorized scooter, etc.
