Too many handicapped parking spots?

Why are there so many handicapped parking spots? Like, I'm not against people who need them, but a lot of times there are spots that aren't even used when there's no more parking. The cops got mad at me for parking there once, but blind people get to use those parking spots and they don't even have anything wrong with their legs!

  1. well i dont know how many blind ppl drive, but i agree there are too many handicap parking spots at some stores.
  2. if the law things we need them then we need them there isn't a whole lot u can do besides this.
  3. Obviously you have never had the need of a handicapped spot. After a car accident that left me handicapped recovering from a broken neck, unable to drive myself, or even turn my head, for months, I have an experience you do not want to have, believe me. Although it would do your black heart good. A healthy person has hundreds of spots to pick from, a handicapped person has few, and you are so freaking selfish you think you should be able to park there just because it is vacant at the time. And blind people don't drive, don't be dumb. A blind person can only use it if he/she has a designated driver. Think about it, if you were blind, would you want to have to navigate a full parking lot of idiots driving around without a care, or would you want to be guided the shortest distance to the store physically possible? It is time for you to grow up and stop being selfish, not to mention lazy. You probably think it is okay to park in emergency lanes if there is no fire at the time, too.
  4. I see your point - most places only have a few, but some stores seem to have WAY too many handicapped parking spots. I believe, though, they are required by law to have a certain ratio of handicapped-to-non-handicapped spaces. Maybe the people you've seen that "don't seem to have anything wrong with their legs" have a heart condition, or some other problem you can't see. They have to have a doctor's excuse to get special permission to use these spaces...
