is it a good idea to have different types of parking spaces for different types of people? You know they have spaces for the handicapped, I herd now they have parking spaces for familes. Would it be a good idea to have a parking space for blacks (since we were mean to them), indian parking space (since we were mean to them), a gay parking space ( for gays), and parking spaces in the back for the white men???
Is it true good men are like parking spaces? all the good ones are taken I meant to put a ?
Why the heck do you people get all the good parking spaces? I thought you wanted to be treated like everyone else. Here's the link Nea: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ao5cSRmN851jvQ3394NRoTHsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070920112429AA1qZ1M&show=7#profile-info-YLUQSWMtaa
What Do SEX And PARKING SPACES Share In Common? Willys cynical thought for the freaking day; All these arguments online reminds me of a pic, I may still have it (?), it says, "Arguing online is like winning the 'Special Olympics' even if you win you're both still fugging retards!" What Do SEX And PARKING SPACES Share In Common: *You should never have to wait to find one *You should be able to slide right into one *Spaces in the front are always the best *When no front spaces are available, spaces in the rear will always suffice *It sucks when someone else is double-parked *Your space should still be open and waiting when you get back *It's a tragedy when you have a 'full-size' car but there are only 'compact' spaces *A full-size car is good to find *People are willing to wait in line for the good spaces *Spaces with short time limits are annoying and never satisfying *We're all looking for the free space with the "unlimited" time limit *A house isn't a home without a parking space *Some people are uncomfortable with a space in the rear *Why is it best-looking cars are always the ones who only like parking in the rear? *The better your parking techniques are the more parking spaces you can get into. http://www.total-knowledge.com/~willyblues/ From; WILLYS JOKES 8/25/06 What SEX And PARKING SPACES Share In Common:
Disabled Parking Spaces??? Why do people who do not have blue disabled parking badges insist on parking in the disabled spaces? I have one due to a mobility problem, and on Saturday when my husband asked a woman in a BMW to move, when there were clearly plenty other spaces available for her, she went off her head at him, and threatened to report him to the cops for verbally abusing her. All he asked was that if she didnt have a disabled parking permit then could she move, so we could get the last space. We had actually sat behind her in the car watching her for a good 5 minutes trying to reverse park without sucess, she spotted the disable bay in fornt of her and drove straight into it. What do these people achieve knowing they are taking up a space that is needed by a disabled person??? Brett & schuult - Id rather be able bodied but due to a hereditary condition, Im not, and I pity the day you ever need extra mobility help.
Parking Spaces, anyone? Why is it that EVERYONE (BOTH MEN AND WOMEN) I've dated falls into my notorious "parking spaces" rule? (The good ones are all taken and the rest are handicapped!) I don't think my standards are THAT high! Or are they?
Women are like parking spaces? Women are like parking spaces. Sometimes all the good ones are taken, so when no f***ers looking, you have to stick it in a disabled one...
Mother and Child parking spaces. Do you hate them too? I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I just cant help parking in the M&C supermarket parking spaces. Does anyone else see them as blatant pandering to a pressure group ('mothers with kids') that is putting everyone else out? Supermarkets are required by law to provide disabled parking, yet even that is being sited further and further away from the main entrance, so that mummy and her big 4*4 can park badly in a lorry sized area. I wouldn't care a hoot if the M&C spaces were at the back of the car park, because I can see that there is a need for them to prevent kids opening doors on neighboring cars. They're not at the back though, are they? They're right at the front like royalty. Its happening more and more in the UK - jobsworths looking for excuses to give some poor disadvantaged group preferential treatment. Yeah right. I've never ever parked in a disabled spot, and agree with the need for them 100%. What fool decided to give M&C the same privileges though?
Designated parking spaces..Opinion on my planned approach please...? I just purchased a townhome in a community and two parking spaces have been designated in paint on the concrete for my townhome. My neighbor and her husband have a car, and so does there college age son. I notice that every time i visited the home while under contract, he parked in one of my spaces. The mother slyly asked me during out first conversation how many cars I owned and I wondered why but now its apparent. Because I advised I have one car, i am almost certain that she wll think its okay for her son to continue to park there. I am in the process of moving in and am there daily, and his car being in my spot is annoying. My intended approach is to leave a friendly note on the car asking that he discontinue. I was also thinking that if she ever does formally ask, I could mention that since i DO pay for both spots in HOA's, i could rent the spot to him monthly for $50.00 (HOA'S are $100.00). What do you think? Risky or reasonable. FYI: Their townhome is attached to mine.
All the parking spaces are Handicapped in front of my College dorm building, is this legal? All the parking spaces available to my dormatory building are handicapped. There is only 1 person in my building who is handicapped and she doesn't drive. Each time someone parks there of course gets a ticket from University Police for parking in a handicapped space. The regualr parking lot is at least 1/3 of a mile away from dorms. What do you guys think, is this legal or what? Please!!!, I really need feedback. I'm peeved because I can't park in front of my building that I paid to live in for the next few months. As if this school didn't milk me for the past 4 years, now they want more money out of me because of some handicapped parking space. I have so many tickets and I just don't think it's fair for all of the spaces to be handicapped. My building has 6 spaces in front of it, and they are all handicapped. There are 4 other near by dormitories and they also have all handicapped spaces. Some buildings even have as much as 9 parking spaces in front and all are handicapped. I just want them to make atleast 2 or 3 available in front of each building. Or lighten up on the tickets.
"Compact" Parking Spaces? Do we get parking tickets if we park truck/SUV at compact parking spaces?
Do you think Handicap parking spaces are abused? Everytime I go to the store, for instance say Kroger or Walmart. I can never find parking. I drive around constantly trying to find some place to park and then end up parking in the back of the lot. As I am walking to the store entrance I notice alot of people that park in the Handicap spaces are overweight and most of them look young. It seems as if today people are abusing handicap parking because of their eating problems. Why should I have to park in the back of the parking lot because Im not overweight? To me, I think its unfair. There are actually people who need those spots like the elderly and people with disablitilies. I don't think people should be getting handicap stickers just because they can control their weight. If they want to lose weight it just takes alot of hard work or an exepensive surgery. haha
Is taking two parking spaces illegal in the street? I live in Los Angeles, and aroud here it is really hard to find parking, it is even harder when my neighbors take two parking spaces for one car. So I wanted to know if taking two parking spaces is illegal, and if so where can I report it.
why no parking spaces in Sabah? There they go again, throught KK and its suburbs, and build beautiful infrastructure, but never any parking areas. The newest example: the so-called one stop passport-visa etc facility near UMS, Sabah's very own 'Putrajaya'... simply no parking spaces! I mean, Malaysia has more than doubled the number of cars on its roads between 1996-2006. More than 14 million cars, but still they construct shopping malls and other infrastructure without adequate parking facilities. Is that a Malaysian problem, or just a Sabah problem? oh, thanks for the many answers, it is 'reassuring' to know other places do the same 'planning'! They are building the longest mall in Malaysia where I live – in Donggongon. There will be over 700 retail outlets, and they proudly announced that they will also ‘create’ ALMOST 900 parking lots. Of course, they are right now destroying Donggongon’s largest parking lot, some 1500 spaces but that is not advertised. The mega long mall is just next to our Tamu Ground, Sabah’s largest with over 900 registered vendors on a Thursday. Of course they all come by foot, buffalo or use public transport to ferry their merchandise around, like in the good olden days. And I suppose all employees of the mega long mall will also come by buffalo and let them graze peacefully behind the balai bomba while they work. Customers take public transport, of course… By the way, I used to cycle quite a lot in KK, one gets so many more things done but the problem is (another Malaysian Problem?) as a cyclist, and for that matter also as a pedestrian you are considered, by most motorists, to be somewhat below the value of a cockroach. Letak kreta siring pagar, duble parking ok lah… one thing I must leave Malaysian drivers: they never seem in a hurry (except when they see a pedestrian or a cyclist, of course), and virtually never honk except when they see an acquaintance on the road!
Math: Permutations: 15 parking spaces, 4 cars, no 2 cars can be next to each other...? There are 15 parking spaces. 4 different cars are parking in them. In how many ways can the four cars park IF NO TWO CARS PARK NEXT TO EACH OTHER?
How many Handicapped parking spaces is a building allowed to have in New York State? If there was a parking lot to a building, how many Handicapped Spaces are allowed to be to one building? Meaning, if the owner wished to make every parking space to a building Handicapped, is he allowed to do so freely?
Should Disabled car parking spaces be made narrower? The other day I noticed someone take a Disabled car parking. this person was driving a Porsche 4x4. This car is quite expensive so I came up with an idea! If the car space was narrower the Porsche driver would be less likely to take the space because the trolley dodger would be more likely to bugger his door up when exiting their car because they would need more space! This would make the Disabled person less prone then to having their spaces taken by ignorant drivers Does anyone agree? This question is open to all & you don't need wheels to reply!
Why do people back into parking spaces in parking lots? It seems to take a lot longer to park and get out.? I notice that some people back into parking spaces in parking lots. Is there any advantage to this? From what I can tell it take over 3 times longer to park and it's not any easier to pull out of the spot and actually looks to be more confined because the drive needs to pull out more before they can turn.
Why back into parking spaces? What's the deal with backing into parking spaces. I'm not referring to parallel parking, which is properly done by backing in. I mean in a regular parking lot at the supermarket or the mall. It takes more time and effort to back in, and it is no issue at all to back out of a spot. So, all you back-in-ers out there, what's your story? Terri -- maybe it's easier to pull out when it's time to leave, but it's harder to pull in when you're pulling in. So, at best its a wash - why not just pull right in and get into the store quicker, and you'll be out quicker.
Disabled parking spaces....answer me honestly, now....!!? How many of you will confess to parking in spaces reserved for blue badges holders only? If you don't - why? If you do - why?
Is there any California law about parking spaces to tenant ratios for apartment complexes? At my apartment it seems that there are way more apartments than spaces for tenants to park in. My roommate and I each have a car, and for our two bedroom apartment there is only one space, and little to no legal street parking in the area. Is there some standard which mandates how many parking spaces an apartment complex must have in comparasin to how many tenants it can hold?
Texas disabled parking spaces? at my workplace I am interested infinding out what the rules for private property work place requirments for handicaped parking spaces for workers. in the state of texas.
Why do black folks back into parking spaces? After living in Atlanta for about 2-3 years I suddently noticed that more often than not, if you were black you were probably going to back into (park "head out") a parking space, even if it was terribly inconvenient to do so. I've Googled and asked several black friends why this is. Answers have ranged from "I don't know why but other black folks give me shit if I don't/pressure me to" to "I do it, but I never noticed that it was a black thing" Clearly all kinds of people will back into parking spaces on occasion, I have just never seen any group that will do it as consistently as blacks. Because I live in a city that is primarily black, I didn't think it would be this hard to find an answer for! I think I already mentioned this, but saying "lots of people do that" is not an answer. I already said that plenty of people do this. The deal is that the percentage of black folks that do it is much higher than others. The fact that I have asked some people in the black community who have said they feel pressured to do it, but aren't sure why seems to indicate there is some kind of reason. I'm sure it is something passed down from the past and am just curious what it is. Remember that I do live in Atlanta, so it's possible this is more of a southern thing (although I grew up in the south and did not notice it until I moved here). And for you 5-year olds out there, no, I am not racist and this really is a serious question. I'm not sure why anyone saying "why does group X do this differently?" is suddenly a racist. Grow up. I figured this would be something I'd google for or ask a couple of people and figure out in 10 minutes, but it has been incredibly difficult to track down. One more thing - the contention that it's "safer or easier if you do that" neglects one important fact - it's a lot easier to back into an open parking lot lane than it is to back into a tight space with two cars on the side of you. So while one part is easier/safer, the other part is WAY harder. I do, however, agree with the assertion that it is easier/safer to leave when facing out. That still would not explain why a specific racial group tends to park in this configuration more than others and is somewhat peripheral to this question's intent. I don't know if this guy was joking or not, but I actually got the answer that I thought was the most likely answer (regarding the problems with racial tension in the 60s and the need to maybe get away quickly to avoid trouble), so I'm going to call that the best answer.
Why do people in rented apt buildings think they have reserved parking spaces??? Now before anyone goes off, I know that SOME places do have reserved parking. But this is my new pet peeve: People who rent apartments with NO assigned parking, and yet harrass others for parking in "their space." This has happened to me twice: once at my old apt building and once at the one I just moved into. BOTH times there was no harm intended. I had no idea that these people even had a space that was "their space." Now the lady who just said something to me, she was reasonably polite about it. She said "It's okay," but I could still tell she was kinda bugged... which kinda bugged me... a little. But the people at my old apt were just RUDE. Knocking on my and my roommate's door with this snotty attitude and giving everyone dirty looks when they parked in "that" space (even though one of the "spaces" was on the street!!). Anyway, sorry I know this is more of a vent than anything. But I'm just wondering if anyone else is as perplexed/annoyed by this as I am by this.
Why do Americans pull forwards into mall (90 degree) parking spaces? Backing in is way less risky!? Everyone in Asia backs in parking spaces because of the effective reduced turning radius. It is annoying that every American wants to be macho and pulls forward into parking spaces, resulting in way more fender benders in parking lots. Why doesn't the DMV tell people to back into mall parking spaces? im not complaining. im just wondering why, cuz its so much easier to back in. if you think its easier to pull in forwards, you probably never tried backign in. also, 90 degree mall parking spaces are clearly meant to be backed in. because cars have their front wheels turning. and having to back out is still clearly more dangerous than pulling out forwards because of the bad vision. backing in is not as dangerous to pedestrians because they aren't going to be chilling in the parking spot. also, i am a us citizen and i do drive in america. no one has ever cut me off when im trying to back in a parking spot.
required number of handicap parking spaces for tulsa public Schools with 30 disabled childern attending.? The handicap parking spaces have been removed from my disabled childs school in Tulsa,Okla. Living in a condominium home. Question is about diabled parking and how many spaces? are required if only one home owner in the 100% owner occupied community is disabled? We recently changed over from a rental community to 100% sold. We are in the transition of changing property handling from the previous property owner to our Home Owner's Association. We recently had a meeting, but they were unsure as to a requirement to have the 2 disabled parking spaces per building that we have now. We understand that the common areas such as the pool, club house and gym need them. The one disabled owner has two marked spaces in front of his condo (and I think he also has a garage?), but the remainder of the buildings are owner occupied and parking is scarce. If we got rid of the remainder of the unnecessary disabled parking spaces we could free up to 4 spaces per bulding. Is there a minimum requirement for disabled parking in the event that the property is privately owned? Please site a source so I can print it out for our safety and architectural committees. Thank you!
What should I do about my realtor who screwed up conveyance of parking spaces in the sale of my condo? I entrusted a realtor to handle all aspects of the sale of my condo, including the choice of the settlement company and the title company. After settlement, with my realtor there with me, the buyer went through the settlement documents very closely and discovered that my realtor's settlement company had mistakenly conveyed two parking spaces from my first condo instead of just one space from my new condo, as I had clearly instructed my realtor. Throughout the entire three months of the listing, the condo was advertised with just one parking space, as I had instructed my realtor. I trusted my realtor to choose and work with the best title and settlement companies from her extensive realty experience, since I had no idea how to transfer the two parking spaces from the condo that I was selling to the condo that I had just purchased, in exchange for selling that one parking space from my new condo along with the condo that I was selling. She failed to do this and left me holding the bag.
Do you have parent and child parking spaces in the rest of the world? In the UK extra wide parking spaces are available to make it easier to get a baby in and out of a car seat. They are usually parked in by single people without children or parents with children of about 11 or 12 years of age!
Can an HOA Board assign common parking spaces to themselves? Our community is single family and townhouse type homes. The newly elected Board members all single family homeowners each with 2 car garages, have taken the guest parking spaces and assigned them to their homes. These spaces are for everyone. The By-Laws do not specify this and the members have not had the opportunity to vote on such a change.
Where can i find garages or parking spaces to buy in and around London? There are a lot of websites dedicated to helping people rent parking spaces or garages but it seems very difficult to find spaces or garages to buy
Have you ever noticed something about fast food establishments and their parking spaces? Some of the parking spaces are in the direct and I do mean direct path of the drive through! Perfect example. There was a lady who was trying to back her car out of a parking space at a McDonalds but had to wait until the drive through traffic died down. It was like the designers were given a plot of land to work with but parking spaces were an afterthought? ( o _ 0 ) Your thoughts?
Why do they back into parking spaces in Japan? Why does everyone seem to back into parking spaces in Japan? In the US most people pull in with the front of the car first. I'm curious to know if there is a reason why the opposite seems to be true in Japan.
Why do the Lawyers and Paralegals insist on taking visitor parking spaces? On the first floor of my office building is a law office that's chock full of small-time lawyers and lowly paralegals. They're all up to their ears in debt and spend all their disposable income on fancy clothes and luxury vehicles such as BMW or Mercedes. They also apparently feel that they're so important that they park in the visitors parking spaces every day! Why do these people insist on taking visitors parking spaces? Are they trying to compensate for something?
why are perfectly able bodied people parking in the handicapped spaces? Did you ever notice how many people park in the handicapped parking spaces. I see them get out of their cars, and they're young, and seem to be healthy as a horse. Where did they get that placecard? Maybe from aunt Lucy? What is this?
What is the legal size for parking spaces in an apartment complex in Los Angeles? Our apartment owner has made three parking spaces out of what was once two. We can't even open our car doors. Is this legal?
Would you support a designated day for drivers to take up two parking spaces to send a message for wider space I am getting sick and tired of being forced to park between two cars only to have the cars next to me ding me. The solution would be simple. Make the parking slots wider. It would save a lot of cars from looking old before their time. Parking spaces should be designed wide enough so that cars can open their doors all the way on either side. It's not going to change, though, unless people make a statement. Would you support such a movement?
Why do some people think they are so special they can take up two parking spaces? Some people with nice cars take up two parking spaces so they will have extra space between two cars. What would happen if everyone took up two spaces? Hello, we would run out of room, quick. If your car is that nice you should leave it at home, or park it a mile away where there are no other cars? It comes down to common courtesy. Anyone agree?
Can anyone find a court case dealing with handicap parking spaces? I'm looking for a court case dealing with handicap parking spaces and ADA regulations.
Why do the lawyers and paralegals in my building feel the need to take visitor parking spaces? On the first floor of my office building is a law office that's chock full of small-time lawyers and lowly paralegals. They're all up to their ears in debt and spend all their disposable income on fancy clothes and luxury vehicles such as BMW or Mercedes. They also apparently feel that they're so important that they park in the visitors parking spaces every day! Why do these people insist on taking visitors parking spaces? Are they trying to compensate for something? You are a high roller I'm sure
Is there a law that prevents a new property buyer from putting up a fence that blocks 62 parking spaces? The buyer now owns part of a shopping center that is necessary for parking. Without these 62 parking spaces, numerous businesses will be forced to close, due to available parking occupancy violations. This new owner has set up a fence and disregards the fact that these businesses have been using this space for decades. Also, this fence makes it impossible for cars to turn around in the parking lot, not to mention the impossibility for a fire truck to even enter the parking lot.
In ContraCosta County, CA, can a resident use up permanently all parking spaces in front of next door houses? For about five months to the present, I have a problem that pickup trucks and cars of residents of next-door houses almost permanently occupied all the parking spaces right in front of my home. There are at least fifteen to twenty people residing in each of these houses.
